Gelato Candy Waffle Pops
Ingredients
For the Batter:
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- *Or use instant waffle mix!
For Waffle Pop Assembly:
- 1 cup white chocolate, melted
- Sugarfina Gelato Candy Collection, crushed
- Popsicle sticks
- Assorted sprinkles (optional)
Directions
If making batter from scratch, add egg yolks, melted butter, vanilla extract, and milk to a large mixing bowl. Mix wet ingredients together to combine. In another bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking powder. Mix the wet and dry ingredients together until well combined. Beat the egg whites with pinch of salt until stiff peaks form, fold gently into the batter. Alternatively, use pre-made pancake or waffle mix! Place about a ¼ cup of batter in section of your waffle maker. While the batter is settling into place, place a popsicle stick in the center of each waffle. Sprinkle with colorful sprinkles and close waffle maker to cook. While waiting, melt your white chocolate and crush your Sugarfina Gelato Candy – we recommend using a mortar and pestle for best results. Once the waffle pops have fully cooked, remove from waffle maker and place on a platter. Drizzle the white chocolate on top of the pops in a zigzag motion, and immediately top with crushed candy. We used one flavor per pop, but feel free to mix + match! Allow to cool, then serve. Enjoy!
